The Benson Residence

The Benson's requested for Michieli Custom Concrete to design a backyard oasis that would allow them to get maximum sunshine exposure in their North facing backyard. Most importantly, the family wanted to maximize the use of their walkout basement as much as possible.  This type of problem is something that is very common and we do see a lot of it. Of course, the finished product will showcase how simple it is to turn an empty backyard into a backyard oasis.

 Before Michieli Custom Concrete:

Step #1:

One of the major requests for the Benson's was the creation of a relaxation "sun-tanning" pad that can double as a fire pit (left picture).  To establish a sense of depth and width for the backayrd, a larger patio that surrounds the entire walk-out basement was formed (Centre/Right Picture)

Step #2:

The clients selected a Belgium slate stamp for the sun tanning pad and patio. Exposed concrete surrounds the base of the patio.
